It was a pleasure to see everyone at the Delegates Report on June 7 at the Chanhassen Library. It is certainly reassuring to see that members are interested in what took place at the conference. In accordance with Tradition 11 & 12 only a redacted version of my presentation will be posted at https://mnsa-afg.org/area-delegate within a few days. This means that no photos or video’s will be in the online presentation. I will also be uploading full versions of some of the conference presentations that I only showed portions of during my report. Copies of the handouts are also being uploaded.
I would like to start getting people together to think about some of the topics that were discussed. I would especially like to see the group representatives get involved! You are the ones that can make things happen.
As the WSO has requested we can look at creating policy for publishing meeting listings – I have reached out to the NYS Delegate and requested a copy of their policy so we don’t have to start from scratch.
Electronic Alateen meetings and the WSC EASBR – Do we plan to opt in?
Naming Groups Policy – What is the general feeling in MNSA? This will be on the agenda next year so I would like feedback from our Area
Trustee Selection Process – What are members thinking. I have additional information to share on this subject to get the conversation going
How are we attracting and supporting future Volunteer leaders? Again, I have more information to share on this important topic.
As I mentioned during my presentation, I would be available to help create workshops, discussion forums or follow whatever direction the Area choses to address these important subjects. I am available to attend district meetings as well. Just need to ask me!
And the most exciting news of all. Minneapolis, Minnesota has been selected to host the 2028 Al-Anon International Convention! We will need 400+ volunteers. Start spreading the message and encouraging people to be a part of this exciting event!
